Belonging is the most fundamental human need.
We build belonging out of our stories.

Connect ED is your guide to belonging, stories, and a dynamic set of tools to bring them together for health and productivity.

Belonging is a combination of unique identities contributing to a generative system of exchange with a shared purpose.
If we work together according to our true identities, then our organizations, our communities, and our own lives will find the balance between growth and stability. We can rest in the midst of change, enjoy our work, and prevent mental, emotional, behavioral, and physical illness. If you would like to increase the experience of belonging in your system, there are three ways to connect with Connect ED:

Connect ED is a regional organization, led by Curtis Miller, that offers coaching, training, program development, and evaluation focused on dynamic response, upstream prevention, and promotion of mental, emotional, and behavioral health in individuals, families, organizations, communities, and policies. In person and online, Connect ED interactions are collaborative, participatory, and empowering for stakeholders with a strong emphasis on empirical evidence in solution making. Informed by a myriad of intersecting sciences including neuroscience, epigenetics, ACEs, resilience, positive psychology, social network theory, complexity, self-organizing systems, and non-duality science, Connect ED guides the collaborative efforts of diverse participants in discovering a generative shared story that contains their true, interdependent identities.

Belonging is the fundamental motive for humans. From conception to death, we seek out strong, safe, satisfying relational connection and measure our contentment by their quality. How and what we learn, our accomplishments, beliefs and hopes - our capacity to grow through life's challenges instead of being limited by them, is a capacity derived from belonging. Belonging is comprised of knowing our identities, how we fit into the larger system, how we exchange what we have to offer and what we need from the community we share purpose and meaning with. (I.S.E.P.)
Connect ED is about getting people connected and educated. Educated with science, perspective and practical tools for connecting well. Heads, hearts and hands.

It's a field of study full of potential to bring about a cultural paradigm shift where healthy relational connections across generational boundaries restore a full spectrum of health for all ages.

"Behavior comes from a desire for belonging and significance.
Misbehavior comes from a misunderstanding of how to get belonging and significance.
"
Alfred Adler
